John Pumayalli

Hometown: Telluride, Colorado

Major: Symbolic Systems - AI track

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class:Surf, read, and go to concerts.

I could talk all day about: Skiing and bridge the card game.

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Artificial Intelligence and Economics

Biosketch: John Pumayalli (he/him) is super excited to be working his first year at Sierra Camp. He will be working with the Mergansers (Go Mergs!). John’s favorite camp related activities include, but are not limited to: canoeing, backpacking, hiking, camping, swimming, and bonfire-ing. You will likely be able to find him reading out on the dock or playing cards inside. At Stanford he is studying Symbolic Systems, following the AI track. He is totally open to switching his major or adding a minor, so feel free to talk to him and discuss your own line of work!

When John is not working hard, he likes to go surfing, play at bridge tournaments, golf, learn to play instruments, and ski. He grew up in Cusco, Perú hiking the Andes. For high school he lived in Telluride, Colorado at the heights of the Rockies. Now he gets to add the Sierras to the collection!
