Jason Amsler

Hometown: Franklin, TN

Major: Symbolic Systems, Human Centered Artificial Intelligence Concentration

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: Going on runs (the dish if I’m up for it), hanging out with friends, and visiting MemChu!

I could talk all day about: Mental health, religion and spirituality, the brain, breathwork, space, baseball, and the NFL!

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Climate tech, AI, and mental health!

Biosketch: After Jason retired from football January of 2023, he wasn’t sure what to do with his free summer. To him, it sorta feels like destiny that he found a letter advertising Camp in a bathroom stall in Crothers Memorial right before the application deadline. He is super grateful to have had the opportunity to be a Mergansers counselor that summer, which had so much magic and memories that filled his heart and spirit so fully, and he is thrilled to be returning this summer as a Chickarees counselor! He can’t wait to see all the familiar faces and build new relationships! On campus, Jason is a senior studying symbolic systems on the human-centered AI track, and he plans to pursue a Master’s in computer science once he’s done with his undergrad. After that, he hopes to use his skills in the climate tech or mental health fields (or both)! Please feel free to talk to Jason about anything at all, whether it be his career as a football player, his time at Camp, or what your story and interests are! Jason is stoked to meet everyone and have a ball this summer! Woohoo!!
