Madeleine McGinty
Hometown: San Mateo, CA
Major: Human Biology
Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: Being a part of the club basketball team, running (ran 2 half-marathons last year), getting boba at every opportunity possible
I could talk all day about: Running, weightlifting, mental health, sports, boba, politics, human biology, general fitness
I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Biotech, health care, government health departments, politics
Biosketch: Maddie grew up in the Bay Area and is currently studying Human Biology with a focus in Personalized Genomic Medicine. She became interested in Biology because of her beloved AP Bio teacher. She hopes to combine her love for Biology with her love for helping others with a possible career in either research or politics in either the private or public sector. In her free time she loves to stay active. Her favorite sport is basketball (she plays on the club basketball team now), which she has played since she was 10 years old. Besides basketball she loves to run, lift, bike, hike, backpack, anything outside. She first learned how to sail when she was 10 years old in the Dominican Republic, and got her captain’s licenses during the pandemic when indoor sports got canceled. She loves to travel and hopes to take many sailing trips all over the world.
