I could talk all day about: Why the next ten years are a unique opportunity to reimagine the educational system; Books I've loved; Religion, Philosophy,
I would love to connect with guests about: Entrepreneurship; Education; AI / tech applied to cool problems; Anything humanities (especially writers / poets).
Biosketch: Marcus is a senior who grew up in Boston but went to high school in the Bay. He's liked to read and drink matcha since before being a performative man was a thing, so some might say he's truly a pioneer in that regard; More recently, he started writing poetry. His elite abilities include locking in so hard that he doesn't hear his friends when they ask him questions, singing and dancing without any shame, injuring his fingers (ask him about it, he'll show you), catching wombats, and --redacted--. He's a little quiet initially, but once you get to know him he's curious, goofy, and spontaneous.
His many experiences in education, including helping his two wonderful younger sisters with their homework and spending a summer teaching math at a middle school in rural Vietnam, have inspired a lifelong passion to spread his love for learning. He is pursuing this through a combination of neuroscience, learning science, and entrepreneurship. He studies Symbolic Systems at Stanford, and just started a Master's in MS&E. You're likely to find him either curled up with a good book or running around in nature!
