Mercer Weis
Hometown: Claremont, CA
Major: Environmental Systems Engineering
Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class:Swim at farillaga with club swim (!), walk lake lag with friends at sunset (!), and tour visitors around campus (especially by CoHo and the row!)
I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Documentary filmmaking, law (environmental, employment, and/or public defense), news broadcasting, and social entrepreneurship!
Biosketch: Mercer had to come back to camp after a summer full of clacking with the Crawdads! Mercer is a current junior originally from Claremont, California. He is majoring in Environmental Systems Engineering on the coastal track, where he focuses on coral reef ecology and coastal water quality (that kind of rhymed?). Outside of his major, he walks backward as a tour guide and swims forward as an avid member of club swim. Mercer also loves all forms of storytelling and providing spaces for people to do the same with the Stanford Storytelling Project. This summer, Mercer will be the Kids Naturalist, teaching the guppies about guppies, crawdads about crawdads, and much more than that! He loves his family from home (mom, dad, sister Kendell, and dachshund Penelope) and can't wait to meet new and returning families at camp!!
